Most churches begin worship with a prelude, introit, or call to worship, but not Saint Paul’s. Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.  Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” (John 13:34).  We believe strongly in these words, so our worship of God begins every Sunday with fellowship and refreshments at 10:30 a.m.  This relaxed time of fellowship is crucial to who we are and what we believe.  Please join us and experience the friendliness that is so typical at St. Paul’s!

Then at 11:00, join us in our beautiful sanctuary for an hour-long traditional service that is Biblically-based and tailored to help us encounter God in the midst of our contemporary lives.  To quote the United Church of Christ (our denominational family’s) constitution,  “We look to the Word of God in the Scriptures, and to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, to prosper our creative and redemptive work in the world. We claim as our own the faith of the historic Church expressed in the ancient creeds and reclaimed in the basic insights of the Protestant Reformers. And we affirm the responsibility of the Church in each generation to make this faith its own in reality of worship, in honesty of thought and expression, and in purity of heart before God.”

We celebrate Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) on the first Sunday of every month (plus special occasions, like Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, and Christmas Eve), and invite all followers of Jesus Christ, no matter what denomination or tradition, to join us.  In keeping with our emphasis on fellowship, we share the bread and grape juice with you in your seat, and then eat and drink together.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated as needed to welcome the children of God (of any age) into our midst.  If you are interested in being baptized, having your child baptized, or simply learning more, please speak with the minister on Sunday morning.

Confirmation and the Reception of New Members are special rites in which teenagers and adults join our church in a covenant of love and service.  There are classes for persons interested in becoming members.  Please speak with any member of our Consistory (look for their blue pins) on Sunday morning to learn more.

Weddings and marriage vow renewal ceremonies (Matthew 19:5-6) can be arranged by calling the church office at (724) 342-2310.
